How We Build Our Practice Questions
The short version: every question on TestPrep.me is original. We do not copy, reproduce, or reconstruct questions from any published or live test. Our items are written to match the published format, subject mix, and difficulty of each exam — not to replicate specific questions from it.
This page exists because "practice test" is a market full of recycled question dumps, and you have no way to tell the difference from a product page. Here is exactly how our items get made.
1. Original content, no exceptions
We do not use real test questions. This is a hard rule, for two reasons: it is the honest thing to do, and recycled item dumps are the reason so much practice material is inaccurate. Every item is written fresh against a specification.
Practically, that means you should treat any product that claims to have "real exam questions" with suspicion. Test publishers do not license their items to prep companies.
2. Every item is written to a spec
Each question targets one of the subject categories the publisher documents publicly — for the CCAT, that is verbal, math and spatial reasoning. The spec fixes the question type, the skill being tested, the difficulty band, and the answer structure before writing starts.
3. Four standards an item must pass
- Correctness. One and only one option is defensible. If two options can be argued, the item is rewritten.
- Clear wording. Unambiguous. No trick phrasing that turns on a comma.
- Explanation. Every item explains why the answer is correct and why the distractors are wrong. An item without an explanation is not finished.
- Difficulty band. The item is classified easy, medium, or hard and placed accordingly.
4. Difficulty is calibrated, not guessed
Our 840-question bank breaks down as 47.0% medium, 28.6% easy, 21.1% hard and 3.3% very hard, and each full-length set is assembled to that same mix rather than drawn at random. A set that is uniformly hard is not realistic practice; it teaches you that you are failing when you are on track. The full category, difficulty and question-type counts are published as an open dataset.
5. Timed conditions are part of the product
Aptitude tests are speed tests. Practicing untimed tells you almost nothing about your score. Our simulations use the real format — 50 questions in 15 minutes for the CCAT, 40 questions in 20 minutes for the Criteria UCAT — because pacing is the skill being measured.
Independence
TestPrep.me is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Criteria Corp, Wonderlic, or any test publisher. Product and company names appear here only to describe which employers use which assessments.
